Health program to benefit children and parents

A FREE, 10-week healthy lifestyle program that children can do with their parents is starting at North Narrabeen next week.

Manly Vale’s Geiselle Rincon did the program with her son Santiago, 9. Picture: Annika EnderborgThe Go4Fun program teaches eligible children, aged 7-13 about exercise and nutrition. Their parents also attend and learn how to help their children become healthier.

It will run every Tuesday, from 4.30-6.30pm, at the Pittwater Sports Centre.

Spokesman Jonathon Noyes said the program used games, sport and fun interactive activities.

“We’ve tried to make the program as convenient as possible for parents, who may be concerned about the eating habits and fitness of their children, but are not really sure what steps to take towards a healthier lifestyle,” Mr Noyes said.

Manly Vale resident Geiselle Rincon loved the program which she did with her nine-year-old son, Santiago,

“My son has started to choose healthier food for himself and has started reading the labels at the supermarket,” Ms Rincon said.
